Becky’s fragile peace is disrupted when she is approached by a documentary filmmaker, Emily Kane (a new character played by a yet-to-be-revealed actor), who is making a film about extreme survival stories. Emily convinces Becky to revisit the world of climbing, aiming to inspire others by facing her fears head-on. Reluctantly, Becky agrees to join a small expedition to scale one of the world’s most challenging rock formations, the towering Devil’s Needle—a treacherous and isolated spire deep in the desert.
The group, which includes Becky, Emily, and two expert climbers, begins the climb under favorable conditions.
